Question
1. I have a question regarding Section 210.52(B)(2) Exception No. 2: “receptacles installed to provide power for supplemental equipment and lighting on gas-fired ranges, ovens, or counter-mounted cooking units.”
I would like clarification of supplemental equipment; would this also include range hoods? — R.H.
Answer 1. The answer to the question is no. The range hood is a standalone appliance and is therefore not supplemental. An igniter for a gas-fired range light built into a stove unit, or an internal clock would be considered as supplemental equipment. — Raymond W. Weber, CMP-2
